专家简介

Prof Loh Wai Lam joined NUS in 2006 as an Associate Professor of Practise at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in NUS, after spending more than 16 years in the UK for several Oil & Gas and related companies since 1990, in the capacities of Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager, Consultant and Head of R&D. During this time, he has led and managed numerous multi-disciplinary consortium industrial R&D projects for the Oil & Gas Industry relating to Offshore Oil & Gas production, subsea processing and transportation, etc. Prof Loh is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is also the Programme Manager (Subsea Systems and Transportation) for the Centre of Offshore Research & Engineering (CORE).
内容摘要
This seminar series focuses on the core engineering chain of offshore oil and gas development, systematically connecting key technological stages from deepwater drilling and well completion to subsea processing. Seminar 1 provides an in-depth analysis of drilling rigs, subsea wellheads, and blowout preventers. Seminar 2 explores the full operational workflow, including drilling parameter optimization, well control management, and completion tool deployment. Seminar 3 introduces transformative technologies for separating and boosting oil, gas, and water directly on the seabed, highlighting their strategic value in enhancing recovery and reducing environmental impact. This series is designed to offer students, researchers, and practitioners a systematic knowledge framework that spans from drilling into the seabed to efficient subsea processing.
